Bitesize (Lunchtime) Pilates

Bitesize (Lunchtime) Pilates is a 30 minute workout focusing on all of the elements of Pilates in smaller 'portions' to fit over your lunch break. Think alignment, coordination, strength, stability and flexibility.

Mixed Ability

In the mixed ability classes I will provide varying levels of movement, adapting exercises for those that need it and challenging those that desire it. It will be expected in these classes that participants have a generally good level of fitness and are familiar with the basic principles of Pilates.

This class offers a full body workout focusing on balance, coordination, strength, stability and flexibility. Varying levels allow this class to be accessed by all ages, abilities and experience.

Always work to your individual capabilities.

Pre & Postnatal

I am Level 3 trained through HFE in pre and post-natal exercise. This additional qualification allows me to deliver pre and postnatal classes specifically designed for expectant and new mums to enable them to keep active with exercises that are suitable and safe.

Prenatal Pilates

It is now widely understood that physical activity during pregnancy has benefits for both mother and baby such as improving sleep, improving mood and reducing the incidence / severity of back pain (these are to name just a few). In the prenatal class we concentrate on the movements we can do, not what we can't!

Posture correction, gentle stretch and strengthening particularly around the hips and shoulders, as well as learning to breathe effectively whilst engaging the pelvic floor.

This class also presents a lovely opportunity to meet other local pregnant ladies and share your experiences whilst keeping active.

Postnatal Pilates

Once your baby has arrived and you feel ready to resume exercise Pilates offers so many benefits to a woman whose body has undergone massive physical change during pregnancy and childbirth. I have been on this journey 4 times myself so will offer professional guidance with a personal touch. I know how it feels physically, mentally and emotionally and just wish I had known about Pilates sooner!

The postnatal class offers new mums a friendly, small class to start exercising again after pregnancy and delivery. Although this is a full body workout, we focus on alignment and posture as well as strengthening the core and pelvic floor in a controlled and safe way.

Pilates offers a fantastic workout for postpartum bodies offering a great balance between body and mind. Sometimes, as mums, we just need to breathe!

Babies are welcome to attend too as long as they are not yet too mobile. Please ask if you are unsure.

Beginners and Older Adults

In the beginners and older adults class I will introduce the basic principles of Pilates, including how to position yourself in optimal alignment in varying exercise positions. We also work on coordinating our breath with movement and to build up strength and stability where you may currently experience muscular imbalances or weakness. This class focuses on functional movement and mobility, offering a full body workout at a more gentle pace.
